Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Stride ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Stride website and services (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

3. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with third-party services necessary to operate the Service, such as Spotify, MusicBrainz, AcousticBrainz, GetSongBPM, and our hosting and AI providers. These providers have their own privacy policies.

4. Data storage and security

We use industry-standard hosting and database services. Spotify tokens are stored only in your browser. Cached tempo data is stored in our backend database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Spotify integration

Connecting Spotify is entirely optional — every other part of Stride works without it. When you do connect, Stride requests only these permissions:

Your Spotify access token is held in your own browser's local storage and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. Stride does not request, receive, or store your Spotify listening history, followers, email address, or payment information. We do not use Spotify content or metadata to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell, sublicense, or redistribute it.

The only Spotify-derived data that ever reaches our database is public track metadata — song title, artist name, and duration — cached alongside a tempo value so repeat lookups are fast. This cache is not linked to your identity or your account.

6. Disconnecting and deleting your data

Press Disconnect in the "Import from Spotify" panel at any time. That immediately deletes the stored access token and any cached playlist data from your browser, and Stride loses all access to your Spotify account. You can also revoke Stride from your Spotify account settings under Apps. Clearing your browser's site data removes every remaining local preference, including your height and cadence settings.

Because we do not store Spotify tokens or account identifiers server-side, there is no server-side profile to delete. To request removal of anything else, use the contact route below.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with the "Last updated" date.
